9=7 is a collective project made during a workshop with the portuguese artist/photographer André Cepeda, based in Lisbon. It took place via video conference, because of 2020’s global pandemic.
My series titled A New Kind of Normal, explores different situations I was presented to during lockdown in March. As I couldn’t really see or meet anyone, I decided to experiment with my body through self-portraiture. All images were made inside my bedroom, where I would spend most of my time during lockdown, and where I felt the most comfortable and free. Taking self-care, boredom, and my body as subjects and themes, these staged photos show a new kind of normal that I was facing in my day-to-day life.
The project was presented with prints inside a red box, and a website is also available here.
